Recap by phillip woo

Raging favourite Mission Possible settled in the box-seat, split the leaders to lead 200m out and kept on well for a maiden win at only his fourth start. Plunged late, Never Better settled one off the fence in fourth, swung the final bend with three wider out and was closing the gap late, while entering the Quinella spot 100m out. He was suited by a step back to the 1,200m. Mr Kool was asked to pick up from behind midfield passing the 600m, straightened four deep and closed off well to grab a placing 60m out. He was suited by the wet conditions. Yourthewonforme ran on steadily with two wider out following a one-off run in midfield to grab a Quartet spot. He's not far off a winning run at this level. Mr Ginger plugged on without menacing after going forward from a wide gate to sit one off in second at the 850m. Excellent Fortune only held his ground following a rail's run travelling fore of midfield. Yat Ding Win was stopping 100m out after dictating the run. Fine Rock made some ground without ever looking a chance with one wider out after settling fourth from the rear from an outside gate. Rugby Diamond only passed beaten rivals from the rear of the field. Good Luck Man struggled upon straightening after a nocover run fore of midfield.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (338)-HANSHIN HANDICAP (Sec1) - Class 4 - 1200Metres

GREAT WISDOM began only fairly.

MR KOOL was bumped shortly after the start by MR GINGER which was taken out by MIGHTY EQUUS.

FINE ROCK lost its left front plate near the 800 Metres.

At the entrance to the Straight, MR GINGER was brushed by MISSION POSSIBLE which shifted out to obtain clear running.

Throughout the race, GOOD LUCK MAN travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

MR KOOL lost its right hind plate after the race.

When questioned, S de Sousa stated that it was explained to him that RUGBY DIAMOND's best runs had been when the horse had been ridden quietly and accordingly he shifted RUGBY DIAMOND across behind runners in the early stages.

He said however that RUGBY DIAMOND immediately came off the bridle and did not travel well at any stage of the race.

He said he had to continually ride the horse along in an endeavour to have it race on the bridle.

A veterinary inspection of RUGBY DIAMOND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of GOOD LUCK MAN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

MISSION POSSIBLE and NEVER BETTER were sent for sampling.
