Racing Incident Report
Race Four: (238)-LONGINES INTERNATIONAL JOCKEYS' CHAMPIONSHIP (HANDICAP)- 1ST LEG (Sec1) - Class 4 - 1650Metres
ENDORSING began awkwardly, resulting in the horse being slow to begin.VARA PEARL shifted out at the start and bumped PLAIN BLUE BANNER.
After the 1000 Metres, WINNING MASCOT was taken wider.
Rounding the Home Turn, ONE OF A KIND was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PLAIN BLUE BANNER.
VARA PEARL was badly held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight and near the 250 Metres bumped ONE OF A KIND when attempting to improve between that horse and HURRICANE KID which was giving ground.
VARA PEARL was then unable to obtain clear running until approaching the 200 Metres.
Approaching the 200 Metres, ONE OF A KIND and HURRICANE KID bumped as a result of HURRICANE KID shifting in when giving ground.
ONE OF A KIND then raced tight between HURRICANE KID and PLAIN BLUE BANNER until after passing the 200 Metres.
Throughout the race, HAPPY MOMENTS travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of HURRICANE KID, WINNING MASCOT and PLAIN BLUE BANNER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
VARA PEARL, HAPPY SPIRIT and GO-GETTER were sent for sampling.

Happy Spirit led from a tricky gate, cornered a length on top and kept up a strong gallop to just hold Go-Getter by a bob of heads for the win at only his second start. Go-Getter travelled second from the rear, rounded the final bend six deep and closed willingly to make it tight on the wire. First Sight Love came from last and widest out to finish a distant third. Sugar City had two behind him rounding the final bend with one wider out and ran on steadily to grab a Quartet spot. Endorsing made some ground near the inside after travelling fourth from the rear following a sluggish break. Happy Moments only held his ground over the final 150m after swinging the final bend with three wider out following a deep trip in midfield. Favourite Vara Pearl eased back to travel one off the fence in midfield, was steadied for a run between runners at the 200m and kept on evenly thereafter. One Of A Kind didn't find much following a rail's run in midfield. Plain Blue Banner had no excuse following a box-seat run. Winning Mascot never let down following a deep run with cover beyond midfield.
