Recap by phillip woo

Thumped late in betting, Happy Chappy tracked the leader, assumed the front 980m out, cornered a length on top and kept on gamely for the win despite a switch to the dirt. Sky Hero was prominent in the run, moved to second 750m out and kept finding to hold down second with money coming for him late as well. Post-time favourite, Archippus ran on reasonably well with two wider out after travelling one off the fence behind midfield from a wide gate to wear down Turin Pearl for a placing. Turin Pearl ran on steadily five deep following a handy run with cover. Hit The bid was patiently ridden second from the rear from a wide gate and was finishing full of run down the outside to just miss a Quartet spot. Early favourite Sea Ruby settled one off the fence in third 800m out after leading early on, cornered four deep with every chance and only plodded over the final 200m. Sensation made some ground after travelling beyond midfield. Jun Gong blew his chances after jumping very slow. Trillion Treasure weakened 150m out after looming a chance 200m out following a midfield run.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (186)-QUEEN'S ROAD CENTRAL HANDICAP (Sec2) - Class 3 - 1200Metres

As the start was effected, JUN GONG became fractious, reared and as a result lost a significant amount of ground.

Before being allowed to race again, JUN GONG will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.

KING DERBY stood flat-footed as the start was effected and did not leave the gates.

Before being allowed to race again, KING DERBY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a series of consecutive barrier trials.

Shortly after the start, SEA RUBY shifted in, resulting in SKY HERO and HAPPY CHAPPY being inconvenienced.

From wide barriers, SENSATION, HIT THE BID and ARCHIPPUS were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Despite being vigorously ridden along in the early stages, MULTIEXPRESS failed to muster speed and consequently travelled wide and without cover.

For some distance after the 1000 Metres, SEA RUBY proved very difficult to settle.

Near the 800 Metres, ARCHIPPUS commenced to travel keenly and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of TURIN PEARL.

Near the 500 Metres, ARCHIPPUS got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of TURIN PEARL.

For the majority of the race, KINGSTON JUMBO travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of TRILLION TREASURE, Y T Cheng stated that despite vigorously riding his mount along in the early stages, TRILLION TREASURE was not able to show sufficient speed to lead as it had done in its previous starts.

He said TRILLION TREASURE, when racing behind runners, travelled only fairly throughout the middle stages and when placed under pressure in the early part of the Straight briefly responded to his riding, however, shortened stride noticeably after the 200 Metres.

He added it was concerning to him the manner in which TRILLION TREASURE gave ground over the latter stages of the race.

A veterinary inspection of TRILLION TREASURE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, TRILLION TREASURE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of KINGSTON JUMBO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ARCHIPPUS, HAPPY CHAPPY and SKY HERO were sent for sampling.
