Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Modern Fortune made his move 600m out after a patient ride behind midfield from a good gate, straightened three from the right, worked to engage Spitfire for the front 80m out and just prevail by a bob of heads. Plunged late, Spitfire was prominently ridden one off the fence, rounded the final bend five deep and gave a cheeky sight to just miss in his first go on the surface. Travel Number One peeled into the open with three wider out at the 250m after travelling fourth from the rear to snatch a placing late in his dirt debut. Mr Right showed gate to easily find the lead 1,000m out despite a sluggish break, cornered two lengths on top and grudgingly gave way. Star Of Wai Bo settled deep without cover fore of midfield, turned the final bend with two wider out and kept grinding away without menacing. St Yazin made a decent bid late after travelling at the tail of the field in his first ever run on dirt. Trendiful enjoyed a lovely run on the back of the speed, peeled one off with a clear run upon straightening and only plodded over the final 150m. He had no excuse. Everyone's Choice only got by beaten rivals widest out after travelling second from the rear with a return to Class Four. Diamond Master was a non-factor after travelling near the back following a slow break.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (181)-BANK STREET HANDICAP (Sec1) - Class 4 - 1200Metres

At declaration time, C Y Ho was declared as the rider of both REAL FIT and STAR OF WAI BO.

It was established that C Y Ho had a firm commitment to ride STAR OF WAI BO.

As such, the Stewards permitted K C Ng to be substituted as the rider of REAL FIT.

For this declaration error, Trainer A S Cruz was fined $2,000.

DIAMOND MASTER bounded in the air at the start and lost ground.

MR RIGHT began only fairly.

EVERYONE'S CHOICE began awkwardly and then despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to muster speed.

From a wide barrier, ST YAZIN was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Making the turn near the 700 Metres, TRAVEL NUMBER ONE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of STAR OF WAI BO.

Rounding the Home Turn, ST YAZIN was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TRAVEL NUMBER ONE when being positioned to obtain running to the inside of that horse.

Throughout the race, STAR OF WAI BO and TARZAN I AM travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on TRENDIFUL at the request of Trainer C W Chang.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, TRENDIFUL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of DIAMOND MASTER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

MODERN FORTUNE and SPITFIRE were sent for sampling.
