Recap by phillip woo

Young Watchman was ridden quietly on this occasion one off the fence behind midfield, circled the field to lead 730m out, straightened two lengths on top and kept up a strong gallop for a first win. Favourite Superoi landed a nice spot three back and one off the rail from a wide gate, swung the final bend three from the right and wore down Go Go Win 30m out for second. Go Go Win enjoyed all the favours tracking the speed along the fence and kept grinding away for a placing. First Sight Love came home nicely with one wider out after being ridden cold at the tail of the field. Albiceleste was another to make a good move late widest out after travelling third from the rear in an improved performance following a stable change . Win It made only a mild bid following rail's run in midfield. Happy Journey only got by beaten rivals after travelling second from the rear along the paint. Doyeni led early on, handed up to Young Watchman and was struggling 150m out. He was in need of the run. Supreme Essence didn't lift following a prominent run with cover. He needs a softer track.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (126)-SHEK UK SHAN HANDICAP (Sec1) - Class 3 - 1650Metres

On arrival at the Start, N Rawiller expressed concern regarding the action of NOBLE DELUXE.

NOBLE DELUXE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who reported that after the necessary consultations the horse was suitable to race.

VANILLA and LOTUS STRIKES BACK bumped shortly after the start.

VANILLA lost its left hind plate shortly after the start.

From wide barriers, HAPPY JOURNEY, ALBICELESTE and FIRST SIGHT LOVE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the 1300 Metres, LOTUS STRIKES BACK shifted in and bumped VANILLA which became unbalanced.

Passing the 600 Metres, NOBLE DELUXE momentarily became unbalanced when taken wider by DOYENI which shifted out around YOUNG WATCHMAN.

Passing the 150 Metres, FIRST SIGHT LOVE got its head on the side and lay out under pressure.

Mr D Cruz, the trainer of NOBLE DELUXE, stated that he had been very disappointed with the performances of the horse in its recent races and therefore he asked N Rawiller to attempt to have it more forward tonight if possible.

He said he had hoped that the horse would be able to obtain a position in front of midfield, but was surprised that NOBLE DELUXE showed sufficient early speed to race outside the lead, however, NOBLE DELUXE again raced disappointingly.

A veterinary inspection of SUPREME ESSENCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

YOUNG WATCHMAN and SUPEROI were sent for sampling.
