Post-time favourite Romantic Cash quickly recovered to settle handy along the rails after a sluggish break, rounded the final bend three deep and finished well to get up 30m out for the win. Early favourite Joy Luck Win travelled effectively one-out, one-back, rallied four deep and ran on nicely to make it close on the wire. He'll be winning shortly. Peace N Prosperity travelled third from the rear after getting crowded out at the jump, stayed to the inside upon straightening and finished willingly to grab a placing. Grace Heart pressed to the front as expected 850m out from Yo-yo Da, rounded the final bend two lengths on top and was gassed 100m out. The extra weight following a win played a role in his failure. Great Run ran on steadily near the inside following a ground-saving run in midfield. Smart Declaration made up heaps of ground three deep after travelling at the tail of the field from a wide gate. Both Lucky settled one off the fence with cover in midfield, shifted into the clear with three wider out at the 250m and was only grinding away under the pump. Happy Meteor knocked up badly after being posted deep without cover near the speed.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (090)-POPLAR HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Metres

On jumping, PEACE N PROSPERITY, which began awkwardly, and NO MONEY NO TALK were crowded for room between YO-YO DA and HAPPY METEOR which shifted in.

From a wide barrier, SMART DECLARATION was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

At the 900 Metres, SPEEDYGONZALEZ, which was proving very difficult to settle, was checked after shifting in across the heels of JOY LUCK WIN which shifted out slightly.

After this, SPEEDYGONZALEZ continued to prove very difficult to settle.

Rounding the Home Turn, JOY LUCK WIN was awkwardly placed close to the heels of YO-YO DA which lay out and then at the entrance to the Straight JOY LUCK WIN momentarily raced in restricted room between YO-YO DA and ROMANTIC CASH.

NO MONEY NO TALK was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight.

K Teetan (GREAT RUN) dropped his whip near the 250 Metres.

Throughout the race, HAPPY METEOR travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

A veterinary inspection of HAPPY METEOR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ROMANTIC CASH and JOY LUCK WIN were sent for sampling.
