Odds-on favourite Smart Union was handy in the run three back along the fence, angled four deep at the 300m and let down nicely to win going away 150m out for back-to-back wins. High Speed Metro finished willingly with one wider out after biding his time third from the rear to just run down Fresh And Fresh for second. Fresh And Fresh led as expected from gate eight, cornered a length on top and grudgingly gave way. Cultural City kept grinding away one off the rail following a box-seat run to edge Smart Guy for a Quartet spot. Smart Guy was held up for a run until pulling outside Glamourous Ryder at the 200m following a rail's run behind midfield. He should have gained at least a Quartet spot. Glamourous Ryder came up flat in the final 100m after cornering five deep following a one-off run in midfield. Let's Goal ran on without menacing after travelling fourth from the rear. Goldweaver yielded ground 150m out after rolling forward from a wide gate to sit outside the leader at the 1,400m. Super Strike never got going from the back.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (086)-CYPRESS HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1800Metres

LITTLE RAINFOREST shifted out at the start and bumped PERFECT TRIUMPH.

HIGH SPEED METRO was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

From wide barriers, SUPER STRIKE and PROPEL REPEL were taken across behind runners in the early stages.

In the early stages, CULTURAL CITY raced keenly when being steadied to allow FRESH AND FRESH to cross into the lead.

Approaching the 1600 Metres, SMART GUY momentarily raced tight inside LET'S GOAL.

Rounding the Home Turn, SMART GUY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SMART UNION which shifted out.

SMART GUY then got its head on the side and lay in towards the heels of GOLDWEAVER passing the 200 Metres.

At the 100 Metres, M L Yeung (LET'S GOAL) dropped his whip.

SMART UNION and HIGH SPEED METRO were sent for sampling.
