Recap by phillip woo

Strathmore quickened well to get up 150m out following a midfield run two from the far side to continue his fine form. He's got the tools to head higher. Favourite Jetwings kept up a good gallop after leading along the stands side from an outside gate. My Little Friend made a good bid to just grab a placing 50m out after travelling third from the rear near the far side. Country Melody was short of room after travelling one off the fence around midfield until the 250m and ran on steadily thereafter. Go Baby Go rolled forward to share the lead from an inside gate and was yielding ground passing the 200m out. Charity Joy only held his ground after travelling around midfield near the center of the track. Marvel Tribe kept up an even gallop following a midfield run on the grandstand side. Caga Force was giving ground 350m out after sharing the lead. Victorius was a non-factor after being detached early on.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (008)-ALBERT HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1000Metres

JETWINGS began only fairly.

MASSIVE MILLENNIUM began awkwardly.

Despite being ridden along in the early stages, LOVELY DELOVELY was slow to muster speed.

Approaching the 800 Metres, CHARITY JOY was momentarily steadied away from the heels of CAGA FORCE.

At the 600 Metres, LOVELY DELOVELY was bumped by MASSIVE MILLENNIUM which shifted in away from the heels of STRATHMORE.

Passing the 400 Metres, COUNTRY MELODY became unbalanced when racing tight between CAGA FORCE and CHARITY JOY.

Over the concluding stages, GO BABY GO got its head on the side and lay out under pressure.

Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of N Callan (GO BABY GO), 5th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels all the way to the end of the race where circumstances permit.

After the race, R Fourie stated that he had concerns with the action of MASSIVE MILLENNIUM over the concluding stages and as the horse was out of contention, he eased it down.

A veterinary inspection of MASSIVE MILLENNIUM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, MASSIVE MILLENNIUM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Also after the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on CAGA FORCE at the request of Trainer C S Shum.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, CAGA FORCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

STRATHMORE and JETWINGS were sent for sampling.
