Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (006)-TAMAR HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Metres
MOTIF was withdrawn on 5.9.15 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore).Before being allowed to race again, MOTIF will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
REAL GENEROUS was very slow to begin.
Before being allowed to race again, REAL GENEROUS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
RAPID TRIUMPH lost its right hind plate on jumping.
PLENTY OF SPEED began awkwardly and shortly after the start was momentarily eased away from the heels of GOLD PRECIOUS which shifted in when being ridden along.
PLENTY OF SPEED subsequently travelled wide and without cover throughout the race.
From wide barriers, PENNY LANE and TRIPLE KING were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
ELEGANCE KLAMMER had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
Approaching the 300 Metres, MASQUERADER was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of PLENTY OF SPEED after being taken out by ELEGANCE KLAMMER.
Approaching the 100 Metres, J Moreira's (ASIA RISING) whip was knocked from his grasp by the whip of Y T Cheng (MASQUERADER).
Passing the 100 Metres, FANTASTICLIFE was steadied away from the heels of GOLD PRECIOUS which shifted in.
When questioned regarding the performance of FANTASTICLIFE, M Chadwick stated that he was instructed to have the horse racing in a forward position behind the leaders if possible.
He said the tempo of the race after the 1200 Metres was particularly strong and he had to ride his mount along in an endeavour to have it in a forward position as instructed.
He said, in his opinion, FANTASTICLIFE did not appreciate the quick tempo of the race at this time as it was never able to travel comfortably.
He added whilst the horse was disappointing in that it did not finish off the race as anticipated, he felt that the circumstances of the race did not suit FANTASTICLIFE.
A veterinary inspection of FANTASTICLIFE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GOLD DRAGON and BORN TO WIN were sent for sampling.

Equal-favourite Gold Dragon was patiently ridden two off the fence behind midfield, swung the final bend widest out and let down nicely to get up 50m out for an overdue win at his 10th start. Born To Win eventually cleared to lead from gate 12, circled the final bend two lengths on top and found one too good in the end. Real Generous had only one beaten coming to the final bend after a poor start, shifted widest out at the 250m and closed nicely to get up 50m out for a placing. He's crying out for a longer trip. Elegance Klammer was denied a placing late after moving to third from behind midfield 100m out. Masquerader only held his ground following a one-off run fore of midfield. Asia Rising had no excuses with one wider out following a midfield trip. Gold Precious came up flat in the final 150m after moving to second 200m out following a one-off run in third. Fantasticlife was prominently ridden along the fence, straightened near three deep and was giving ground 150m out as the co-favourite.
