Favourite Gun Pit settled behind midfield and one off the rails, swung the final bend with two wider out and took control from Sichuan Vigour 120m out in track record time to remain unbeaten in six course-and-distance outings. Sichuan Vigour was prominently-ridden one off the fence, made his move coming to the final bend, poked his head in front 200m out and only found a surface freak too good. Obliterator closed well after saving ground in midfield to edge out the front-running Pablosky for a placing. Pablosky ran no time on the lead and couldn't keep up the gallop over the final 150m. He's better over the 1,200m. Fabulous November gradually gave way after stalking the leader one off the fence. Apollo's Choice enjoyed the gun run and couldn't lift when asked for an effort. Plunged late, Dehere's The Love had excuses in his first go over the mile when caught without cover around midfield. Vanilla only stayed on passed beaten rivals following a rail's run from beyond midfield.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (743)-THE HONG KONG REUNIFICATION CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 2 - 1650Metres

As the start was effected, APPROVE became fractious and reared, resulting in the horse losing a considerable amount of ground.

Before being allowed to race again, APPROVE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.

From the outside barrier, HYPERSONIC was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Approaching the 1200 Metres, HYPERSONIC shifted in and bumped VANILLA which became unbalanced.

For the majority of the race, DEHERE'S THE LOVE travelled wide and without cover.

VANILLA lost its right front plate during the running of the race.

A veterinary inspection of LORD SINCLAIR and DEHERE'S THE LOVE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of HYPERSONIC immediately following the race revealed the horse to be lame in its right front leg.

Before being allowed to race again, HYPERSONIC will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

GUN PIT and SICHUAN VIGOUR were sent for sampling.
