Recap by phillip woo
Firming late, I'm In Charge settled one-out, one-back in a six-runner race, swung the final bend with two wider out and ran on well to take control 120m out for a fourth victory this term. Smart Volatility was briefly headed by Access Years for the lead 250m out, fought back to reclaim the front 200m out and found one too good in the end. Lucky Double Eight bided his time at the rear along the fence, swung the final bend with one wider out and finished well to grab third in a blanket finish for the final place position. Frederick Engels travelled on the leader's back, was pocketed for a run until pulling out four deep at the 150m and ran on steadily thereafter to just miss a placing. Favourite Not Listenin'tome eased back to settle second from the rear when failing to get in with cover from the widest gate, swung the final bend furthest out and was winding up late to make it close for a placing. Access Years settled outside the leader, poked his head in front at the 250m and grudgingly gave way in the end.
