Favourite High Five settled three back along the rails, peeled into the clear near six deep when straightening and quickened nicely to take control 50m out to open his win account at only his third local start. Charity Joy settled one-out, one-back, rushed to the front four deep at the 120m and kept on gamely to add some spice to the Quinella. Harbour Punk tracked the speed along the fence, came three deep when straightening and stayed on for a placing without menacing the top pair. Mr Genuine settled one off the rails fourth from the rear, swung the final bend with two wider out and closed off well to fill a Quartet spot. Imperial Champion drove forward from a wide gate to find the front 750m out from Happy Yeah Yeah, straightened two lengths on top and was yielding ground 150m out. He's better over the 1,000m. Victorius ran on without menacing with one wider out after making his run behind midfield along the rails. Happy Yeah Yeah led 900m out, handed up to Imperial Champion passing the 800m and only plodded over the final 200m. Disciples Twelve made only a mild bid three deep in the drive after travelling third from the rear. Lang Tai Sing was never a factor after travelling beyond midfield without cover.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (688)-CHAK ON HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Metres

On jumping, BULLISH FRIEND bounded in the air and bumped the hindquarters of HAPPY YEAH YEAH, causing that horse to become unbalanced and BULLISH FRIEND to lose ground.

From the outside barrier, SMART MAN was shifted across behind runners shortly after the start.

When being steadied from wide barriers in order to obtain a position with cover in the early stages, DISCIPLES TWELVE and MY LITTLE FRIEND were crowded for room between MR GENUINE and IMPERIAL CHAMPION (A Suborics) which shifted in.

A Suborics was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future.

After the 900 Metres, MY LITTLE FRIEND commenced to prove difficult to settle and shifted out away from the heels of MR GENUINE.

Making the turn after the 600 Metres, BULLISH FRIEND blundered when being steadied away from the heels of HIGH FIVE (D Whyte) which shifted out after making the turn awkwardly.

D Whyte was advised that whilst the Stewards acknowledged that HIGH FIVE's shift had been an abrupt one, nonetheless he must in similar circumstances do his utmost to prevent his mounts from shifting ground.

For the majority of the race, LANG TAI SING travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of DISCIPLES TWELVE and MY LITTLE FRIEND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, they were unable to be scoped due to being fractious.
