Off the rails has been the place to be all night and favourite Ishvara narrowly prevailed, overhauling Executive Mandate close to home after a run without cover three deep from gate 11. Executive Mandate settled one-out, one-back, raced to the front five deep at the 50m and was collared late. Bespoke Collars settled fifth along the rails, rounded the final bend five deep and just pipped Golden Addiction for third. Golden Addiction held second outside Graceful Kingdom, drifting out under pressure six-to-seven deep upon straightening and had to settle for a minor Quartet spot. Graceful Kingdom was under pressure coming to the final bend a length on top and grudgingly gave way. Pearl Win enjoyed a box-seat run, stayed on the slower part of the going along the fence, loomed a place chance at the 150m and came up flat 50m out. Sugar City had cover three deep fore of midfield, swung the final bend with one wider out and only plodded under the whip. Beauty Lead was unable to make a bid near the center of the course upon straightening after travelling third from the rear.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (439)-TSING YI HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Metres

Shortly after the start, CHARLIE VICTOR and BEAUTY LEAD were crowded for room between NATURAL FRIENDSHIP which got its head on the side and shifted out and GOLDEN ADDICTION which was taken in by VERDANE.

From the outside barrier, WIRE TO WIRE was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After the 1100 Metres, CHARLIE VICTOR shifted out across the heels of VERDANE after being checked away from the heels of NATURAL FRIENDSHIP, resulting in CHARLIE VICTOR losing ground.

BEAUTY LEAD and WIRE TO WIRE were hampered when taken wider in consequence.

For some distance in the middle stages, CHARLIE VICTOR proved difficult to settle.

Throughout the race, ISHVARA travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of SUGAR CITY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ISHVARA and EXECUTIVE MANDATE were sent for sampling.

GENERAL:

Races 3 & 4 were each put back 5 minutes and Races 5 - 9 were each put back 10 minutes.

1 March 2015 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 10 (430) After reviewing the videos, the Stewards believed it was appropriate to interview K C Leung, the rider of ASHKIYR, regarding his riding of that horse particularly in the Home Straight.

The Stewards had previously reported that ASHKIYR was badly held up for clear running until passing the 150 Metres.

K C Leung stated that he had been instructed by Mr J Moore, the trainer of ASHKIYR, to follow the stablemate SUNNY YING during the race if possible.

He said he was also asked to obtain inside runs as it was believed that CLUB LIFE and CONTENTMENT were strong chances in this race and it was anticipated that both these horses would be positioned close to the rail.

He said in the early stages he shifted across to race behind SUNNY YING which had drawn immediately inside ASHKIYR.

He said rounding the Home Turn SUNNY YING did not appear to be travelling strongly and therefore he elected to shift ASHKIYR to the outside of that horse to improve into clear running between SUNNY YING and TOP ACE.

He said as he improved to be racing outside of SUNNY YING, that horse shifted out.

He said at this time a run appeared as though it would develop between SAME WORLD and TOP ACE which would have afforded ASHKIYR clear running and for this reason he did not steady ASHKIYR and shift back to the inside of SUNNY YING passing the 400 Metres.

He said near the 300 Metres he improved his position to be racing behind SAME WORLD, however, TOP ACE maintained its position directly to the outside of SAME WORLD and because of this a full run did not develop between SAME WORLD and TOP ACE for him to be able to improve into.

He added to the inside SUNNY YING was also racing relatively close to SAME WORLD which was commencing to give ground and likewise a run was not available to improve between those horses.

He said as he had hoped that clear running would develop either to the inside or outside of SAME WORLD, he remained racing behind that horse until after the 200 Metres at which time it became apparent to him that a run was not going to present itself and consequently, near the 150 Metres, he steadied ASHKIYR and shifted in across the heels of SUNNY YING into clear running.

He stated that whilst it was available for him to steady ASHKIYR prior to the 150 Metres, he believed at this time he would have had to steady his mount quite significantly to shift across to the inside of SUNNY YING and during the race he believed it was a better option to persevere in attempting to obtain clear running either to the inside or outside of SAME WORLD.

K C Leung was advised that his explanation would be reported, however, wherever possible, he must ensure that his mounts are given clear running at the earliest opportunity.

Additions to Racing Incidents Report from 1 March 2015 Racemeeting Race 8 (428)CELESTIAL SMILE had difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 150 Metres.Race 10 (430)Near the 75 Metres, M Chadwick (ANTICIPATION) dropped his right rein.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 1 March 2015 The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that GOLD PRECIOUS had sustained an incomplete condylar fracture to the left front leg after racing.

Before being allowed to race again, GOLD PRECIOUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of ENJOY THE GAME, GOLD TARTINI, SMART GUY, KINGSTON JUMBO, LOVELY NAUGHTY, BEAR-POP, ARCHIPPUS, CHARTER VICTORIA, FOREVER ACCURATE, WINNER ST PAUL'S, SUPER JOCKEY, TOUR DE FORCE, BOSSIEE, CHARITY KINGDOM, DESIGNS ON ROME, HELENE SUPER STAR, RENAISSANCE ART, CELESTIAL SMILE, EROICO, WHY WHY, CONTENTMENT and MR GNOCCHI revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of CHIN CHUN, WILD BOY, BOLD STITCH, KIDS AND WIN, GOLDWEAVER, THOR THE GREATEST, BEAR RAPPER, UNICORN, RAZOR QUEST, D'OR WONGCHOY, PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT, UNIQUE HAPPIEST, RIGHTEOUS, KING OF MONGOLIA, OUR FOLKS, HAPPY ROCKY, LUCKY OMENS, PHOTON WILLIE, REAL SPECIALIST, DIVINE CALLING, I'M IN CHARGE, TEOFILO CALVA, SOUL ACHIEVER, GOOD GOOD VIEW, TRAVEL FIRST, SUPER TALENT, UP AND COMING and DIVINE DIYA (21.2.15) proved negative.
