Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (438)-SOUTHORN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1800Metres
LEOWL and DRAGON PINS were crowded for room shortly after the start between GRIFFINDOR and GOOD CHOICE which shifted in.M Chadwick (MONSIEUR MOGOK) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that shortly after the start he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of GOOD CHOICE, causing that horse to be checked when crowded for room and to blunder.
M Chadwick was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday, 19 March 2015 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays).
The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday, 8 March 2015.
MONSIEUR MOGOK lost its right hind plate in the early stages.
Passing the 1100 Metres, DRAGON PINS was momentarily crowded for room inside GOOD CHOICE which was racing tight inside ENSURING.
At the entrance to the Straight, GRIFFINDOR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CLASSIC JEWELLERY.
Passing the 300 Metres, GOOD CHOICE was held up for clear running and shifted to the inside of the heels of LEOWL which was giving ground.
DRAGON PINS, which was positioned to the inside of GOOD CHOICE, was inconvenienced in consequence.
Near the 150 Metres, CRAZY BUDDIES shifted out towards ENSURING.
Approaching the 100 Metres, CRAZY BUDDIES was struck across the nose by the whip of B Prebble (ENSURING).
Also approaching the 100 Metres, REDWOOD BABY and MONSIEUR MOGOK raced tight due to MONSIEUR MOGOK shifting out.
Throughout the race, CRAZY BUDDIES travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of LEOWL and DRAGON PINS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
ENSURING and WRATH OF FIRE were sent for sampling.

Firming favourite Ensuring made his run behind midfield and two off the rails with cover, swung the final bend with two wider out after taking off at the 500m, shot to the front 150m out and edged clear of Wrath Of Fire for a first win at his sixth start. He can score another. Wrath Of Fire saved ground in midfield, advanced to the front 250m out along the fence and found one too good in the end. Crazy Buddies was posted without cover the entire trip fore of midfield from an outside alley, straightened five deep and kept on gamely for a placing despite the hard run. Monsieur Mogok settled one off in midfield, rounded the final bend with three wider out and ran on nicely to come out a clear-cut fourth. Redwood Baby travelled three deep second from the rear from a wide gate, turned the final bend with one wider out and was running on. Griffindor had a good run in fourth, straightened four deep and was only plodding over the final 150m with every chance. Good Choice was held up behind the tiring leader Leowl until the 200m after travelling third from the rear and ran on steadily without menacing thereafter. Plunged late, Leowl was stopping 200m out after dictating the run.
