Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Go-Getter settled in the box seat, rushed to the front three deep at the 250m and kept on nicely to open his win account at his seventh outing. Heroic Guru was ridden for luck from a wide gate, swung the final bend furthest out and rattled home to collar the late-fancied Hey Cheers in the shadows of the post for second. Hey Cheers travelled effectively one-out, one-back, pushed six deep upon straightening and stayed on reasonably well for a placing. Strathtay settled second from the back, rounded the final bend five-to-six deep and finished well over the final 100m to add value to the Quartet. Rugby Ambassador travelled one off the fence worse than midfield, swung the final bend with three wider out and ran on steadily to just miss a First-4 spot. Elegance Klammer settled three back along the rails, advanced to second near the inside 200m out and peaked on his run 100m out. Circuit Star failed to lift after travelling behind midfield along the rails. Hurry Hurry Up led as expected from an inside gate, cornered a half-length on top from Manipulation and was stopping 200m out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (384)-FO TAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Metres

CIRCUIT STAR began awkwardly and lost ground.

GLORY BOY was crowded for room on jumping between HAPPY CENTENARY and SOUTHERN SPRINGS (T H So) which shifted out.

T H So was advised to ensure that he makes every effort to prevent his mounts from shifting ground at the start and causing interference to other runners.

After this, GLORY BOY was shifted across behind runners.

RUGBY AMBASSADOR began awkwardly, shifted in on jumping and bumped the hindquarters of GO-GETTER which became unbalanced.

From a wide barrier, HEROIC GURU was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion, CIRCUIT STAR raced tight inside STRATHTAY.

After the 1200 Metres, SOUTHERN SPRINGS was left racing wide and without cover.

At the entrance to the Straight, STRATHTAY was shifted to the inside of RUGBY AMBASSADOR after being held up behind that horse rounding the Home Turn.

Passing the 200 Metres, HEROIC GURU got its head on the side and lay in under pressure and then over the concluding stages was inclined to shift out.

After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on ELEGANCE KLAMMER at the request of Trainer C W Chang.

The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, ELEGANCE KLAMMER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

GO-GETTER and HEROIC GURU were sent for sampling.
