Racing Incident Report
Race One: (383)-FANLING HANDICAP - Class 5 - 2200Metres
From a wide barrier, HIGH SPEED METRO was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.Making the first turn passing the 2100 Metres, SMART GUY raced tight inside SUPER STRIKE which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of GLAMOROUS RYDER.
Passing the 1900 Metres, GOLD TARTINI got its head on the side and shifted in towards the heels of GLAMOROUS RYDER and as a consequence became unbalanced.
Approaching the 1800 Metres, GLAMOROUS RYDER was crowded for room between SUPER STRIKE and DRAGON (J Moreira) which shifted in momentarily before being shifted out to relieve the tightening.
J Moreira was advised to exercise more care.
Also near the 1800 Metres, SMART GUY raced tight inside SUPER STRIKE.
Approaching the 1200 Metres, KING HARADASUN got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SMART GUY.
Also near the 1200 Metres, GLAMOROUS RYDER proved difficult to settle.
After the 1200 Metres, BRIGHT CONCEPT commenced to prove difficult to settle, shifted out away from the heels of DRAGON and then raced tight between DRAGON and FOUR FOUR FIVE.
Near the 1000 Metres, SMART GUY raced tight inside BRIGHT CONCEPT which got its head on the side and shifted in after being awkwardly placed close to the heels of FOUR FOUR FIVE.
KING HARADASUN and HIGH SPEED METRO, which were following SMART GUY, were hampered in consequence.
When questioned, J Moreira stated that DRAGON was not suited by the manner in which the race was run.
He said from barrier 10 it had been hoped that DRAGON may be able to obtain a position with cover behind the speed, however, due to the circumstances of the race in the early stages, he was left racing very wide and for this reason entering the Home Straight on the first occasion he was obliged to allow the horse to stride forward to obtain a position closer to the rail.
He added DRAGON came under pressure from the 600 Metres and then did not finish off its race after this.
A veterinary inspection of DRAGON immediately following the race revealed the horse to be lame in its left front leg.
Before being allowed to race again, DRAGON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of BRIGHT CONCEPT and SMART GUY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
DRAGON, GLAMOROUS RYDER and WIN CHANCE were sent for sampling.

Glamourous Ryder settled midfield and one off the rails, pulled out and circled the field as the pace slackened to find the front 750m out, cornered two lengths on top and kept on gamely for the win with a step up in distance. Derek Leung Ka-chun's smart ride helped boot him home. Win Chance followed the move of Glamourous Ryder to get to third and three deep at the 600m, straightened four-to-five deep and loomed a winning chance until peaking on his run 100m out in a much-improved effort. Super Strike swung the final bend with two wider out after settled fore of midfield and one off the rails to get up for a minor placing. Dragon Bachelor settled deep behind midfield from a wide gate, advanced to sit second at the 500m, straightened three deep and came up one-paced over the final 150m to just hold a Quartet spot. High Speed Metro was patiently ridden from a wide gate, swung the final bend furthest out and did nice work late. King Haradasun dropped back to settle second from the rear at the 800m and made some late progress. Flying In ran on steadily after travelling worse than midfield. Bright Concept eased back to midfield when the race change complexion approaching the 800m and only held his ground in the run to the wire.
