Best-backed late, Money Café sat on the leader's back along the fence, cornered three deep and got up 150m out to return to the winner's circle following a luckless run earlier this month. Percy Jackson settled three deep with cover behind midfield, swung the final bend with two wider out and finished well with a drop in grade to edge out Cruise Control for second. Cruise Control made his run near the back, circled the field without cover at the 1,000m to sit outside the leader Jolly Good Star at the 850m, wrested the lead 300m out and grudgingly gave way late. Fortune Giggles settled a handy fifth along the rails, cornered four-to-five deep and stayed on dourly to inject value into the Quartet in an improved second-up performance with a step up in distance. Enjoy The Game made ground widest out after travelling at the tail of the field. Always Something made some ground after travelling fourth from the rear without menacing . Towering Storm was restrained from a wide gate to travelled second from the rear, was held up until switching off heels at the 150m and ran on steadily thereafter. Favourite Golden Scalpel never gained a clear run until passing the 150m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (338)-THE FIELD GREEN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 2000Metres

FORTUNE GIGGLES shifted out at the start and bumped ALWAYS SOMETHING.

CRUISE CONTROL began awkwardly and shortly after the start was shifted out away from the heels of MONEY CAFE which shifted out.

From the outside barrier, TOWERING STORM was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After the 1300 Metres, OXFORD CHARLEY travelled wide and without cover.

At the entrance to the Straight, TOWERING STORM was steadied when disappointed for running between GOLDEN SCALPEL and ALWAYS SOMETHING which shifted out.

TOWERING STORM was held up for clear running from near the 300 Metres until passing the 200 Metres when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SKIP COURT which was shifting out under pressure.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that SKIP COURT was found to have sustained a cut to the right hind heel.

At the 300 Metres, GOLDEN SCALPEL was checked when attempting to improve into tight running between OCEAN POWER which initially shifted out marginally and OXFORD CHARLEY which also shifted ground marginally when giving ground.

As the Stewards were of the opinion that there was no rider error associated with this incident, no further action was taken.

Near the 200 Metres, ALWAYS SOMETHING was shifted to the inside of FORTUNE GIGGLES after being disappointed for running between that horse and SKIP COURT.

A veterinary inspection of GOLDEN SCALPEL immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, GOLDEN SCALPEL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of OXFORD CHARLEY and JOLLY GOOD STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GOLDEN SCALPEL, MONEY CAFE and PERCY JACKSON were sent for sampling.
