Firming late to jump favourite, Regency King was well-rated after clearing to the lead at the 1,200m and kept on well to improve his resume to two wins and three placings this term. Chater Dream handed up the lead to track the speed on the rails with Eton Blitz to his outside, moved to second 250m out and just found one better on the evening. Good Choice travelled second from the rear along the rails from a wide gate, stuck to the fence upon straightening and finished up willingly to grab third 50m out. Romantic Touch was ridden for luck after missing the kick, swung the final bend widest and finished soundly to just miss a placing. He's not too far off a winning run. Sichuan Exec plugged on without menacing following one off run in fifth. Eton Blitz sat one off in second, cornered five deep and came up one-paced over the final 150m. Albiceleste ran on steadily without menacing following a one-off run from behind midfield. Noble Deluxe plugged on without looking a factor following a one-off position in midfield. Plunged late, Dalwari failed to let down with every chance after settling on the back of the eventual runner-up Chater Dream.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (300)-CAUSEWAY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Metres

As the start was effected, ROMANTIC TOUCH reared, resulting in the horse being slow to begin.

ROYAL PARTNER began awkwardly.

DALWARI and CHATER DREAM bumped on jumping.

From the outside barrier, BEAUTY LEAD was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

For some distance after the 900 Metres, GOOD CHOICE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ROYAL PARTNER.

For some distance in the middle stages, NOBLE DELUXE got its head up when travelling keenly.

Passing the 300 Metres, JUN GONG was shifted out to avoid causing interference to GOOD CHOICE which had improved quickly to its inside.

Over the final 150 Metres, ROYAL PARTNER was unable to obtain clear running and consequently was not able to be properly tested.

A veterinary inspection of ROYAL PARTNER and DALWARI immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

REGENCY KING and CHATER DREAM were sent for sampling.

Trainer R Gibson was fined the sum of $5,000 for entering OBLITERATOR (T222) for the Sha Tin official barrier trials on Tuesday, 6 January 2015 when that horse was unbranded.

OBLITERATOR was subsequently branded on the afternoon of Monday, 5 January 2015 and participated in batch 4 of the stated official barrier trials.
