Recap by phillip woo
Favourite Smart Guy stayed near the inside upon straightening after tracking the speed in third, dashed to the front 120m out and kept on well for the win with a key riding change to Joao Moreira. Electronic Gospel settled midfield and one off the rails, swung the final bend with three wider out and finished well to run down Mister Marc 10m out for second despite a step up in distance and move to blinkers. Mister Marc eventually claimed the lead from Hollywood Kiss, cornered narrowly on top and grudgingly gave way late. Humongus eased back to have only one behind him coming to the final bend near the inside and ran on steadily to grab a First-4 spot. He wasn't suited by the pace. Mizzen Grey plugged on without menacing after pulling out six deep in the drive following a midfield run. King Haradasun took off three deep from behind midfield to settle fourth without cover coming to the final bend before peaking on his run 100m out. Plunged late, Hollywood Kiss came up flat over the final 200m after settling effectively one-out, one-back. Hear The Roar made some ground without menacing out wide after going back from an outside gate. He wasn't suited by the tempo. King's Folks swung the final bend with one wider out and had nothing left in the tank at the 150m.
