Racing Incident Report
Race Three: (077)-KIU TSUI HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Metres
WILD BOY was withdrawn on 10.10.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right hind) and was replaced by first Standby Declared Starter JUST ACE (Y T Cheng).SOLAR SPIRIT was withdrawn on 11.10.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (blood abnormality) and was replaced by second Standby Declared Starter RIBOT LEGACY (T H So).
Before being allowed to race again, WILD BOY and SOLAR SPIRIT will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
GLORY OF LONGWAH and MELLIFLUENT began only fairly.
As the start was effected, DARK CORE lifted its front feet off the ground.
Shortly after the start, DRAGON ENERGY and JUST ACE bumped.
A short distance later, DRAGON ENERGY was momentarily crowded for room between JUST ACE and KYNAM, both of which shifted ground.
Also shortly after the start, GLORY OF LONGWAH was crowded for room between KYNAM and JETSO DELIGHT.
When being shifted out after the 900 Metres, DRAGON ENERGY was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of JUST ACE.
Near the 800 Metres, GLORY HORSIE was steadied away from the heels of XI YING MEN (C K Tong) which shifted in when not properly clear.
C K Tong was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear prior to shifting ground in future.
He was told that this was the second occasion in recent times that he had been spoken to regarding shifting ground when not properly clear.
Near the 300 Metres, RIBOT LEGACY was shifted in away from MELLIFLUENT which was directed in by OCEAN ROAR which was taken in marginally by GLORY HORSIE.
Near the 150 Metres, KYNAM was steadied when crowded for room between JOY TOGETHER and DARK CORE which shifted in.
Over the concluding stages, KYNAM was awkwardly placed close to the heels of DARK CORE and consequently could not be properly tested.
GLORY HORSIE and MELLIFLUENT were sent for sampling.

Well-punted, Glory Horsie settled second or third along the stands side, shifted near the far side at the 350m and finished well off a feather weight to take control 100m out for the win with a return to Class Four. Odds-on choice Mellifluent settled one from the far side in midfield and ran on steadily when popped the question to wear down Xi Ying Men for second. Xi Ying Men led near the grandstand side and grudgingly gave way late. Jetso Delight was up dueling for the lead early on and came up one-paced over the final 150m in a pleasing debut. He'll eventually show his true colours over a longer trip. Dark Core made some ground late to just miss a First-4 spot after travelling along the stands side worse than midfield in an improved outing. Joy Together only held his ground after a midfield run. Kynam made some ground without menacing from behind midfield and one off the outside fence. Specked at odds, Ocean Roar was prominent in the run three off the outside fence and struggling 200m out.
