Recap by phillip woo
Favourite Universal Union travelled nicely in fifth and one off the rails, forced widest out coming to the final bend and finished nicely to take control 200m out for a first win at his fourth start. He's still an unfinished product and will be heading a lot higher. Real Supreme settled second in the run, drew outside the leader Ovett approaching the final bend and kept on gamely to just hold second ahead of Kirov, who jumped well to hold a position in third along the rails, pushed out sharply four deep rounding the final bend and stayed on well to make it close for the minors. Gallant Triumph settled worse than midfield and one off the rails, swung the final bend with one wider out and just out-finished backmarker Divine Diya travelling to his outside for a First-4 spot. Both Gallant Triumph and Divine Diya will come on for this run and will be ones to keep safe when next stepping out. Great Charm settled fourth without cover for the most part, straightened with three wider out and kept plugging away without menacing. Ovett stormed out of the gates to lead comfortably from gate 10, cornered a half-length on top and swamped in the final 100m for a placing.
