Recap by phillip woo
Best-backed late, Wrath Of Fire settled fourth along the rails, shifted three deep at the 400m and finished well to win going away at the 150m following a stable change. Late-fancied favourite Redwood Baby settled midfield and one off the rails, rounded the final bend four deep, loomed a winning chance at the 200m and came up one-paced over the final 100m. Alpinefield took the sit in second with Level Player assuming the lead at the 1,250m, reclaimed the front 350m out and kept on gamely when headed for a placing. Towering Storm settled at the tail of the field, made his move 700m out and kept plugging away without threatening. Lucky Omens made his run second from the rear, pulled off heels coming to the final bend, straightened widest out and ran on without threatening. He was in need of the run. Early favourite Ambassadorship was left without cover in third at the 1,200m, rallied five deep and came up flat 150m out. Level Player went forward to assume clear lead at the 1,200m, cornered near two lengths on top and was gassed at the 250m. Agiaal struggled following a rail's run worse than midfield.
