Reigning champion Cheung clinched gold in men’s foil fencing for the second consecutive Games, following a nail-biting showdown that ended in a dramatic 14-14 tie with Italy’s Filipo Macchi.

The 27-year-old made history as the first defending champion in 68 years in this Olympic event, while securing Hong Kong its second gold medal of the Games after Kong’s victory two days earlier.
