The Chinese swimming team were tested for doping almost 200 times in 10 days after arriving in France for the Olympics, a member of support staff said in a since-deleted social media post.

Published on Weibo by China swimming team nutritionist Yu Liang, the post complained about the frequency and timing of anti-doping tests conducted by the International Testing Agency (ITA).

“We came [for the tests] at six in the morning and during the lunch break – we had nowhere to take a rest but a sofa in the hotel lobby,” Yu wrote on Weibo. “We came again at 9pm, and had to stay up until the middle of the night.”

China has sent 31 swimmers to the Paris Olympics and Yu said each was tested five to seven times in 10 days after arrival on July 6. The Weibo post, published late on Wednesday local time, has since been removed.

Yu said a member of testing agency staff commented on how cooperative the Chinese swimmers were and implied that if another team were tested that intensely, they would have filed a complaint.
