There were 35 gold medals up for grabs in Paris on day 14, enough to make a difference in the race to finish top of the pile come Sunday.

China grabbed one early in the women’s double canoe 500m race, and in record time too, and added further golds in the women’s 3m springboard and men’s team table tennis.

With another in women’s boxing, China neared the 34 golds its team were predicted to win in these Games, with the final two days to go. At the same time, American successes in track and field, as well as weightlifting, kept the medal table too close to call.

There was no time at all for Olympic fatigue in our live coverage of day 14 in Paris.
