Katie Ledecky – Swimming

At 27, American swimming legend Katie Ledecky had etched her name in the annals of Olympic history by becoming the second woman ever to win nine gold medals.

In Paris, she triumphed in her signature events, the 800-metre and 1,500-metre freestyle, events in which she still holds the world and Olympic records.

Tied with Soviet-era gymnast Larisa Latynina for the most Olympic titles by a female athlete, Ledecky’s quest to surpass this record in the LA Olympics can be expected. Her determination and passion leave the door open about competing in Los Angeles.

“I’d love to, but it’s not easy,” Ledecky shared. “I’ll take it year by year and give it everything I’ve got for as long as I have left in me.”
