There are days at the Olympics when it feels as though you either need seven televisions, a time machine, or multiple versions of yourself to keep up – this is one of those days.

From diving to weightlifting, hurdling to basketball, there was a dizzying amount of sport on offer, so much so that a Hong Kong athlete even made a rare appearance.

The men’s 200m final meant the row over doping wasn’t going away any time soon, with USA sprinter Erriyon Knighton competing despite failing a drugs test.

He was cleared because he apparently ate some contaminated meat – where have we heard that before? Needless to say, one side is making hay, but at least it didn’t take nearly three years and a media investigation to make it public.

Day 13 promised to be anything but quiet, and it delivered. Stay with us for continued live coverage from Paris.
