Paris Olympics day 6: Zhang Yufei takes bronze, sixth gold for Biles – as it happened
- Zhang Yufei finishes third behind Canada’s Summer McIntosh and American Regan Smith in 200m butterfly final
Let’s be honest, today was supposed to be another one of those slightly lighter ones, where we all go to take a breather after the non-stop action of the opening few days.
Then China’s Pan Zhanle goes and wins the 100m freestyle in world record time, a rival coach essentially accuses him of cheating and the world once again loses its collective mind.
You could be forgiven for thinking, therefore, that there was not much going on at the actual Olympics, but how wrong you would be. China’s Zhang Yufei was trying to defend her 200m butterfly title, Liu Yukun chased shooting gold, Zheng Qinwen reached the final of the women’s singles tennis and Simone Biles competed in the all-around gymnastics final.
Just a few things to keep us busy then in our live coverage of day six.
