Large crowds flocked to Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade East for the second and final day to watch races contested by open, mixed and women’s teams.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Championship Final was won by a mainland Chinese crew, in Zhuhai’s Bo He Sports, with Macau China Dragon Boat Team finishing second and more mainlanders, Foshan’s Ran Tian, in third.

Among those travelling from overseas to compete was Sri Ganesh, a paddler with Abu Dhabi team Desert Dragons, who competed in multiple races but were unable to claim a podium finish. He said the standard was unlike anything he had seen before.

“The competition here is so high, it’s not even close to what we race in Abu Dhabi,” the Malaysian helicopter engineer said.
