Hong Kong’s Ng On-yee teams up with Judd Trump for mixed doubles snooker tournament
- Eight of the world’s top snooker players team up for the first-ever World Mixed Doubles in September
- The four mixed pairs will compete over two days in a round-robin format, followed by the final
The draw for the inaugural BetVictor World Mixed Doubles snooker tournament has been made, with three-time women’s world champion Ng On-yee teaming up with 2019 world champion Judd Trump.
The pioneering event, which pairs each of the world’s top four men with one of the top four women, is one of few major sports where men and women can compete alongside each other on an equal footing.
Seven-time World Champion Ronnie O’Sullivan has been matched with 12-time Women’s World Champion Reanne Evans, while 2010 World Champion Neil Robertson and current Women’s World Champion Mink Nutcharut will be a force to contend with.
Four-time world champion Mark Selby and women’s world No 4 Rebecca Kenna round out the fourth, star-studded team.
“Can’t wait,” Ng said in an Instagram post about her paring with Trump.
The lead up to the September event has so far been positive for Ng. Last week she defeated Nutcharut on her way to claiming second place at the UK Women’s Championship.
The World Mixed Doubles invitation event will take place over the weekend of Saturday September 24 and Sunday September 25 at the Marshall Arena at MK Stadium in Milton Keynes.
