Daniel Juncadella grateful for late call-up to race in Macau GP
Spaniard, who was called in to replace Pietro Fittipaldi just three weeks ago, admits that his thoughts always turn to former Portuguese enclave this time of year
When the late call came for Daniel Juncadella he did not have to be asked twice and now the 2011 Macau Grand Prix champion is leading the assault on tomorrow's event for Fortec Motorsport.
"That day meant more to me than just winning the race," recalled Juncadella of his win in Macau. "That day I realised I could be as good as anyone."
From victory in Macau, Juncadella went on to claim the next year's FIA Formula Three European Championship as well as test drive for the Force India Formula One outfit.

"It showed me what I can do. It's a great feeling and qualifying is the most exciting you can do anywhere all year," said Juncadella. "You have to just get out there and go for it and that's what I'll do on Saturday."
The Spaniard was called in to replace Pietro Fittipaldi just three weeks ago and he admits that his thoughts always turn to Macau this time of year, even though he has since 2013 been driving in the DTM series in Europe with Mercedes.
"I was trying to get a seat and in the end it came pretty late, but I am happy to be back - it's late, but it's great," said the 24-year-old. "It's a real race. There's no politics here; it's all about the racing."
