Hong Kong’s Yu Yau-pui will face Amy Pirnie in an atomweight Muay Thai bout at ONE Fight Night 24.

Yu will be looking to extend a winning streak which began in February last year. She has won six fights in a row and is coming off a one-sided decision win over Lara Fernandez at ONE Fight Night 20.

The 31-year-old was a breakout star on ONE Championship’s Friday night shows at Lumpinee Stadium, where she will be returning on August 3 for her fight with Pirnie.

She won five fights at the weekly events with three of those victories coming inside the distance.

Yu was rewarded with a multi-fight contract and the opportunity to compete on the Saturday morning events, which are broadcast by Prime Video in North America.

The win over Fernandez would have put her in contention for a title shot but the Hongkonger missed weight.

A victory over Pirnie would potentially leave Yu well positioned for a shot at reigning atomweight Muay Thai champion Allycia Rodriguez.

Coincidentally the Scottish fighter is also coming off a win over Fernandez, although that fight took place back in 2021. It is not clear why the 31-year-old has been out of action for so long.

Pirnie will be hoping to snap Pio’s lengthy winning streak when she makes her ONE Championship debut next month.

Also added to the card this week was an all Japanese strawweight bout. Former champion Yosuke Saruta (21-12-3) has lost his last three fights and will be looking to get his career back on track when he faces Keito Yamakita (9-1).

Yamakita already holds a win over former strawweight champion Alex Silva who he beat by decision at ONE Fight Night 8 last year. He was the reigning champion with Japanese promotion champion Pancrase before signing with ONE Championship in 2023.

The other fight added to the card is a bantamweight Muay Thai bout between Ireland’s Craig Coakley and former Channel 7 super lightweight champion Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon.
