Superlek Kiatmoo9 has two huge Muay Thai fights booked in just four months. For most fighters, that would be an intimidating schedule, particularly as he needs to move up a weight division for the second match.

But the experienced Thai, the current kickboxing flyweight world champion, is taking it all in his stride.

Superlek once fought three times in three countries in a single month. So he had no qualms about accepting a flyweight fight next Saturday – against Kongthoranee Sor Sommai at ONE 167 in Bangkok – despite already being booked for a bantamweight title match in September.

Fighting twice in four months is not particularly intense for Superlek, but he does worry about the weight change.

There is a 10-pound (4.5-kilogram) difference between the flyweight and bantamweight divisions. He will be competing in the latter at ONE 168 when he challenges Jonathan Haggerty in Denver for his Muay Thai title.

“I am not worried about the fight,” Superlek told the Post. “I am worried about the weight because there’s only two months between the fights. ”
