ONE Championship featherweight Muay Thai champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai is out of December’s main event against Superbon Singha Mawynn, a source told the Post.

The pair were set to headline ONE Fight Night 17 at Lumpinee Stadium on December 9 in Bangkok, but the 24-year-old Thai champion is in hospital with a “serious virus”.

The source, who has direct knowledge of the situation but asked to remain anonymous, said the promotion would try to get the fight rebooked as soon as Tawanchai is ready.

Superbon was at Saturday morning’s ONE Fight Night 16 event at Lumpinee to promote the bout, but Tawanchai was absent.

ONE’s former featherweight kickboxing champion will not be offered a short-notice replacement fight for next month, the source added, and it is unclear what will serve as the new main event.

ONE Championship will look to rebook Tawanchai against Superbon as soon as possible.
