UFC president Dana White has suggested Zhang Weili’s highly-anticipated rematch with Joanna Jedrzejczyk in Singapore in June could be contested over five rounds.

The two former strawweight champions put on a battle for the ages in their 2020 Fight of the Year, when China’s Zhang retained the belt with a split decision.

Arguably the greatest women’s MMA fight of all time, a second stanza may feel somewhat anticlimactic without a belt on the line, which normally limits a fight to three rounds in the Octagon if is not a main event.

“That’s a good question,” White said in the early hours of Sunday morning at the UFC 273 post-event press conference.

“Do you want me to make it five rounds?” he asked the reporter, who answered in the affirmative.

“We’ll work on that,” White then added.
