UFC’s Dana White ‘doesn’t know anything about fighting’, ONE Championship boss Chatri Sityodtong says – ‘he’s a fan’
- Asian martial arts promotion’s CEO likes his chances in potential match-up with UFC president
- ‘He’s an outstanding businessman … [but] I don’t particularly respect the way he talks down to athletes,’ Chatri says
ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong likes his chances in a potential fight with UFC president Dana White.
Chatri, 50, was asked about a fight with his fellow promoter on Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour on Wednesday. He did not make an outright prediction for the hypothetical tussle, but it was easy to ready between the lines.
“I’m a lifelong martial artist,” Sityodtong said. “I’ve been doing Muay Thai for 35 years and I’m a Brazilian jiu jitsu brown belt. I train five, six times a week.”
The Chatri vs White debate was recently stoked by a ONE Championship Instagram post, which asked fans if they wanted to see the match-up.
According to Chatri, the post wasn’t intended as a call-out – but that does not mean he wouldn’t fight the 52-year-old UFC boss if the opportunity came along.
