UFC: Nate Diaz bickers with Dustin Poirier over fight date – ‘they don’t wanna pay you … sorry, you suck’

Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz are at odds over the date of their potential fight.
The two Americans, who reside among the biggest stars on the UFC roster at present, have been jawing back and forth over a potential fight since Poirier was submitted by lightweight champion Charles Oliveira at UFC 269 last Saturday in Las Vegas.
While both men seem interested in the fight, Diaz recently claimed on Twitter that the UFC isn’t interested in making the fight happen – at least not from a fiscal vantage point.
Poirier was quick to respond to that remark from Diaz. “The Diamond” noted that, while a fight at UFC 271 on February 22 is off the table, he has already agreed to a fight with Diaz at UFC 270, which is scheduled for January 14 in Anaheim, California.
“Maybe UFC 271 they couldn’t make it happen,” he wrote. “On 270, I said yes.”
Before his loss to Oliveira, Poirier was riding back-to-back stoppage wins over Ireland’s Conor McGregor, and a decision victory over New Zealand’s Dan Hooker.
Diaz, on the other hand, is riding back to back losses to Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal, both in the welterweight division. His last win occurred in 2019 when he defeated former lightweight champ Anthony Pettis by decision.
