Ireland’s McGregor (22-6) gave “The Indian Tigress” (7-1) some shine on Twitter earlier this week, not long after wishing his Indian followers a happy Diwali.

“Rooting for the Indians to make a stamp in this game soon,” McGregor wrote, responding to a Tweet about Phogat’s latest victory. “Very possibly the most respectful and caring nationality I’ve ever met in my life, the Indians. Let’s go India.”

Phogat responded to McGregor‘s warm words on Twitter on Friday, thanking the Irish star and inviting him to visit India – a country he evidently holds in high regard.

“Thanks so much @TheNotoriousMMA for your wonderful words,” Phogat wrote.
