Nate Diaz may be coming off a unanimous decision loss against Leon Edwards last month, but that doesn’t seem to be stopping him from wanting to settle some unfinished business.
The Stockton, California, native called out Dustin Poirier via social media on Thursday, alongside a picture of the two facing off before their cancelled November 2018 fight.
But here’s the catch: welterweight Diaz (21-13) challenged No 1-ranked lightweight Poirier to take him on at middleweight.
“185 pounds, pull up,” he tweeted.

“The Diamond”, fresh from settling his trilogy with Conor McGregor at UFC 264 last weekend, was eager to oblige.
“I’d touch you up at any weight,” he responded.

The two men were set to meet at UFC 230 inside Madison Square Garden in New York, before Poirier (28-6, one no contest) withdrew with a hip injury.
The 32-year-old American Poirier, though, is likely to challenge lightweight champion Charles Oliveira (31-8, one no contest) next, and has already expressed an interest in a fourth but with McGregor.
Former two-division champion McGregor is set to miss the next year, however, after undergoing surgery on a broken leg.

Diaz also has a potential rematch set with McGregor (22-6). The 33-year-old Irishman won their second fight at welterweight via majority decision in August 2016, after the American had submitted him five months earlier.
“The Notorious” claimed on Thursday his leg and ankle had been compromised heading into UFC 264, but that he now had an “unbreakable” titanium shin after surgery on his left tibia and fibula.
Which only prompted Diaz to respond: “Watchu gonna do to the Unbreakable?”
