After instantly making waves upon her arrival in Bellator in April, Diana Avsaragova is planning a quicker turnaround than usual.

A lightning fast 29-second knockout of Tara Graff at Bellator 256 in Connecticut was enough to propel the newcomer directly into the divisional rankings – albeit briefly – and she is keen to put her name back into the top 10 as soon as possible.

“I liked being at No 10, it’s really high. But I noticed that after each event the placement always changes and after the last one I didn’t see my name any more,” Avsaragova told SCMP MMA, laughing.

“So I don’t get how it works.”

For the many who were watching the 22-year old Russian (3-0) for the first time, the victory over Graff provided just a glimpse of what she is capable of.

“I didn’t expect the fight to be this quick,” she said. “My friends and family, sometimes they joke, ‘Why didn’t you let her fight with you some more? Why did you finish it so fast?’
