The 34-year-old Anthony Pettis and his younger brother Sergio left the Las Vegas-based organisation on their own terms for greener pastures and have found lucrative new homes in the PFL and Bellator, respectively.

Although some may feel the pair may not have departed the UFC of their own volition, “Showtime” insisted they were calculated moves.

“I sent my brother out of the UFC because of the deal Bellator gave him [in October 2019],” Pettis told SCMP MMA. “I think everybody thought I was going to follow Sergio to Bellator, follow that path.

“But I like Sergio having his own name. Sergio is over at Bellator and he’s Sergio Pettis. He’s not Anthony Pettis’ little brother. And I love that for him. He feels like the man over there. Even when I corner him, I just go out the last day just to show him some support. I want him to feel like his own man. He earned that and that’s what he has at Bellator.”
