Ferguson, the former interim lightweight champion (26-5), whose five previous scheduled bouts with “The Eagle” all fell through for various reasons, once again called the Dagestani a “fathead” via Twitter and said he should have a record of “29-1”.

The undefeated Russian star, who last fought Justin Gaethje in 2020, met with UFC president Dana White last week before the pair confirmed they had respectfully parted ways. Now it has been announced the vacated belt will be contested between Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira.

“Ali, I Accept Your Client Fathead @TeamKhabib VerbalTap 29-1 It Is,” wrote “El Cucuy” Ferguson in response to Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz, who had taken a shot at his latest training video. “It’s MMA Not Jiujitsu Ya Slop Stick to Dodging Fights On Purpose & Bein’ A Sour Bish’ # BeGon’Thot -CSO-”.

Ferguson also posted a short cartoon video along with his emoji-laden response.
