UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya had a few choice words of “advice”, shall we say, for Jon Jones on his adversary’s long-awaited move to the heavyweight division.

“Go put some [expletive] muscle on your chopstick legs and go fight Francis Ngannou and watch him break you,” said Adesanya.

This week, Jones confirmed he would vacate his light heavyweight title to make the seemingly inevitable move up, opening up a host of new opportunities and opponents. “Bones” mentioned the hypothetical super fight against Adesanya as an option in a series of tweets announcing his future plans, but it appears “The Last Stylebender” is in no rush to join him.

Although Adesanya believes the two will eventually meet in the Octagon, he’s always maintained it would be after he’d cemented his legacy at middleweight.

“One hundred per cent, it doesn’t change my plans,” said the 31-year-old Nigeria-born New Zealander, who pointed out the hypocrisy in Jones goading him to move up to 205 pounds sooner rather than later.
