Colby Covington said he would fight Jorge Masvidal “for free” after a scathing review of his title fight against welterweight champion Kamaru Usman on Sunday.

“Gamebred” lost to Usman on six days’ notice via unanimous decision at UFC 251 on Fight Island, Abu Dhabi.

“The UFC has a new name to it: the Ultimate Footsie Championship. It was a pathetic performance and put me and my friends to sleep,” “Chaos” Covington (15-2) said to Submission Radio of the headline event.

The 32-year-old Covington was likely referring to Usman (17-1) wrestling his opponent to the fence and stomping his foot on several occasions. “The Nigerian Nightmare” Usman beat Covington via fifth-round TKO last December.

While a rematch does not appear likely – several other divisional contenders continue to line up for a title shot – Covington has continued to campaign for one. He then shared thoughts of a potential fight with former American Top Team teammate and flatmate Masvidal (35-14).

“Dude, I’ll fight that guy for free. That’s the easiest money fight I’ll get,” the American said. “We used to fight in the bathroom at American Top Team, or at the water fountain to see who’s gonna get the water first. But of course the father always goes before the son to get the water first.
