Colby Covington has once again blasted former teammate Dustin Poirier despite beating New Zealand’s Dan Hooker in a fight-of-the-year contender at UFC Vegas 4 last week.

Former interim welterweight champion “Chaos” Covington (15-2) had previously apologised for breaking a “deal to keep it civil” with “The Diamond” Poirier (26-6, one no contest) and others from Dan Lambert’s American Top Team. Lightweight Poirier then dared Covington, who has since left the team, to return to the gym last September after he “talked bad” about then-mutual teammate Masvidal.
“Doofus Dustin Poirier will always be on my radar. We could fight on the same night that I fight Marty Fake Newsman because he has no chance against me. It’s just an easy fight,” the 32-year-old Covington told Submission Radio.
“Before he was talking about coming up to 170 [pounds] and I’m sure if he would have lost to that Hooker from Australia, he would have had no choices and would have come up to 170 and see daddy.”
The 31-year-old Poirier secured his first win in the Octagon since losing to champion Khabib Nurmagomedov via third-round rear-naked choke last September. Poirier also lost to Irish star Conor McGregor in 2014.
