The “BMF” title holder Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal said he would consider fighting one of the sport’s most feared competitors – Khabib Nurmagomedov, who holds the UFC’s longest active win streak – and drop down from his regular weight class to do so.

“If they pay me what I’m worth I will go down to 155,” said Masvidal, who normally fights at welterweight (170 pounds). “One hundred per cent I like what Khabib does. I like that he’s undefeated and one of the best lightweights, so just that obstacle would be enough for me to consider dropping down, but the UFC would have to reward me for it.”
Masvidal made the comments during a UFC on BT Sport interview. The Miami native has been outspoken recently in regards to fighters’ pay within the UFC, an issue that has become contentious since the coronavirus outbreak. Masvidal has spoken out alongside light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, which has been met with resistance from president Dana White.

The 35-year-old Masvidal had nothing but kind words and respect for the Russian champion.

“I respect Khabib as a competitor, he is a hell of a competitor, I like what he brings to the table. I like his attitude, he doesn’t get too caught up in trying to promote the fight via b*******. If he doesn’t like the guy, he doesn’t like the guy, and if he gets along with the guy he doesn’t force it trying to sell people on ‘I’m going to kill this guy because I hate him so much’ and do all that talking s*** which I very much like and I commend him for that.”
