Dana White announced on Tuesday that UFC 251 – headlined Usman vs Burns on July 11 – will be one of four events to be hosted on “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi.
Diaz (20-12), who last fought in a third-round doctor’s stoppage loss against Jorge Masvidal for the “BMF” belt in November last year, said the bout “isn’t a title fight” and insisted it is simply being held for financial reasons.

“This is what’s wrong with people claiming they’re fighters settling for less cause they know they’re not worth s*** you should’ve fought the next guy in line not the guy who would take less cause he’s told [to] that’s why no one will remember you guys[.] This isn’t a title fight”, the 35-year-old Diaz tweeted, adding, “I get paid more than both of you together”.

Usman (16-1), who successfully defended his belt for the first time against Colby Covington via fifth-round TKO in December, responded by breaking down and comparing Diaz’ professional record with other contenders. He also accused Diaz – as well as Masvidal and former double champion Conor McGregor – of not stepping up to fight.

“Funny I didn’t hear you volunteering when they were looking for the next victim,” Usman tweeted. “Your bum ass, the other ‘said guy’ who just embarrassed your ass, and McNuggets bum ass all ran and hid. So shut TF up and sit TF down. Oh and don’t forget to buy the PPV.”
