The MMA world was wondering if Colby Covington would dare make his presence felt at American Top Team again. It seems “Chaos” already has.
Dustin Poirier revealed in an interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani that he had a meeting with ATT founder and owner Dan Lambert at their Florida gym last week after Covington showed up.
Former UFC interim welterweight champion Covington has riled some of his teammates including Poirier and Jorge Masvidal after trash talking them in recent months.
“That guy, I’m not gonna talk about him and give him any light,” Poirier told Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show.


“I’ll just tell you, me and Dan Lambert actually this past Saturday, we sat down and had a meeting and we’re keeping everything business right now.”
Poirier and Masvidal had previously threatened to confront Covington if he stepped foot back in the gym, and “The Diamond” confirmed Lambert was concerned about a situation developing.

“He asked for it [the meeting]. Yeah, well of course he doesn’t want a fight in his gym,” Poirier said. “He just wanted to pick my brain and see where I was and also give his thoughts on the whole situation.
“I’m not worried about nothing. I’m a grown man, a father, a professional, and I’m gonna try to be that. I actually saw him [Covington] the other day, that’s why we had to have a meeting. I don’t wanna get into it.”
Covington upset Poirier by picking UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov to beat him last September, as well as with his disparaging comments about Masvidal – who accused Covington of ripping off their coach.
