UFC: Jorge Masvidal ‘moving on’ from Conor McGregor; ‘leaning towards’ Kamaru Usman fight
- Masvidal says McGregor has different plans – ‘I guess it’s Usman’s head now, he’s sealed Usman’s fate’
- ‘Gamebred’ warns UFC welterweight champion ‘you’re dead’
He was hoping to goad McGregor into calling him out, but “The Notorious” simply said “all these mouthy fools can get it” – which Masvidal took as a sign that he isn’t interested, leaving him to focus on welterweight champ Kamaru Usman.
“All I know is that he don’t want the fight, so I’m moving on,” Masvidal told Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show. “This dude doesn’t want it. I ain’t here to bully. I guess it’s Usman’s head, he’s sealed Usman’s fate now.
“Leave him be, he wants to get the trilogy with Nate [Diaz], god bless him. Do your thing, my brother. Usman you punk [expletive], when you see this interview, look me in my eyes, so you know the truth comes from me, you’re f****** dead.
Masvidal is open to his manager Abe Kawa’s suggestion of fighting McGregor for an interim welterweight title, with Usman set for a spell on the sidelines because of a hand injury.
