Jorge Masvidal gives his Conor McGregor vs Donald Cerrone prediction for UFC 246

- ‘If Cowboy comes out to grapple like he has in the past with decent strikers, he can mix things up real nice’
Conor McGregor is an overwhelming favourite with the bookmakers’ for his fight against Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 on January 18, which is fair given his status as a two-time division champion.
But Jorge Masvidal sees some ways that “Cowboy” can spoil McGregor’s comeback.
The Irishman has not fought since an October 2018 submission defeat by lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, but is returning at 170 pounds – the division Masvidal has been ploughing his way through to become the No 1 contender.
“It could go many ways,” Masvidal told Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show. “But Conor’s great off the block, he’s f****** phenomenal off the start.
“Cowboy’s a slow starter. Conor has tremendous speed and timing in the beginning, good power, so I think he could catch him early.
